Vendor Information

Tool Description:

PICE-96 was developed using the most recent hardware and software technologies. Using Altera* FLEX 10K* devices reduced emulator size dramatically without compromising performance. The emulator consists of the main board, a changeable emulation and a package-specific adapter. Those three parts form a tiny 85x85x50 mm (3"x3"x2") "sandwich-style" emulator head which plugs directly into the target socket and connects to a PC serial port via a weightless cable.
The intelligent breakpoint processor supports up to four complex breakpoints that can be set independently or in combinations of AND/OR/IF-THEN conditions. Each complex breakpoint filters a combination of address, data, control and 8 external probe lines, real-time timer, true event counter and delay timer outputs. PICE-96 supports transparent emulation, providing "on the fly" access to the emulated memory, breakpoint processor, trace buffer, real-time timer, performance analyzer and READY & BUSWIDTH generator. PICE-96 has an opto-isolated high speed serial link to the host computer via RS-232C port with baud rates of up to 115K (690K if the optional adapter is used).
Using the PICE-96 enables you to debug systems based on several synchronized 80C196 chips. Up to fifteen PICE-96s can be connected to a single PC serial port to emulate such a system, thus ensuring a precise synchronization of microcontroller starts and breaks.
The flexible Windows* hosted high-level debugger provides source-level symbolic debugging for C compilers from Intel, Tasking, IAR and Phyton.
